Shawn Davis-Edwards

Mental Health Counselor - Limited Permit

She specializes in working with adults diagnosed with severe mental health illnesses, which include schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder (I & II), major depressive disorder, and anxiety disorder. She also has experience working with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Her personal experience and desire to help others have led her to help others navigate their diagnoses. That is why she provides a therapeutic space that is safe, nonjudgmental, and collaborative, where all her clients can feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

Her theoretical approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Approach, and Motivational Interviewing. These approaches allow her to tailor an individualized treatment plan that is based on each client’s unique needs.

No matter what their challenges are, her goal as a therapist is to ensure that her clients are heard, supported, validated, and empowered. Together, they can work toward meaningful change.

Feel free to contact her so that she can help you gain insight into your challenges, develop coping skills to manage those stressors, and begin the road to recovery.
